Animals
They come in all shapes and sizes, from the massive elephant to the tiny grasshopper. Some are covered in fur, while others have scales. They live everywhere – from the deepest oceans to high up on mountains. They fly, swim and run. But all living, breathing creatures have one thing in common – they are all a type of animal. Learn more about them here!
Amphibians
Amphibians live in water as babies and on land as adults. They have moist skin and lay eggs in water. Frogs, salamanders, and toads are amphibians.
Birds
Birds have feathers, lay eggs, and most can fly. They are warm-blooded and breathe air with lungs. Owls, penguins, and eagles are birds.
Fish
Fish live in water, breathe with gills, and have scales covering their bodies. They are cold-blooded and lay eggs. Sharks, goldfish, and tuna are all fish!
Invertebrates
Invertebrates have no backbone. They include insects, jellyfish, and octopuses. Most are small but super important in nature!
Mammals
Mammals are warm-blooded animals with fur or hair. Most give birth to live young and feed them milk. They breathe air and have a backbone. Examples include dogs, humans, and dolphins.
